Privacy Notice When the royals are off-duty and away from the public eye, they ditch the formality of titles for more affectionate nicknames. Meghan Markle shared her pet name for Prince Harry, calling him ‘Haz’ in a candid chat with James Corden during their LA escapade. The Queen, known fondly within the family as Lilibet, was even dubbed ‘Gary’ by a young Prince William who struggled with the word ‘Grandma’. The Royal tots have their own adorable monikers for their family members too. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are said to know everything about their late ‘Granny Diana’ and lovingly call King Charles ‘Grandpa Wales’, a sweet echo of how the Queen referred to her grandfather George V as ‘Grandad England’, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Queen Camilla, however, breaks away from the usual ‘grandma’ title. With five grandkids of her own and the young royals including Archie and Lili in the mix, she’s embraced the nickname ‘Gaga’. The Sun revealed that during a Royal Variety Performance in 2016, Camilla shared with Lady Gaga that her step-grandchildren called her ‘GaGa’. Post-Prince George’s arrival, Camilla confided to the Daily Mail, “My own grandchildren call me GaGa. I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but is still very sweet.”

Prince George also had a super cute nickname for his great-grandmother the late Queen – “Gan-Gan”. Kate Middleton dished the little secret back in 2016, following Princess Charlotte’s birth. Kate said: “It’s very special having a new little girl…I feel very, very lucky that George has got a little sister. “The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors here. George is only two-and-a-half and he calls her ‘Gan-Gan.’ She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay and that just shows her love for her family.” It comes as Prince Harry had a less favourable nickname for Camilla he shared in his tell-all memoir Spare. In the book, the 39 year old Royal appeared to use a cheeky nickname for his stepmother, referring to her as the “Other Woman”. He has also disclosed that Camilla’s relationship with his father, King Charles, had left his brother Prince William feeling “confused” and “distraught” throughout their childhood.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
