The 12th season of the popular reality series is currently airing on E4, with a fresh batch of singletons embarking on their marital journeys – which have been far from plain sailing. Tonight’s episode saw a new couple, Beth and Teejay, enter the experiment, with the current newlyweds attending the nuptials. 28-year-old salon manager Beth and 28-year-old business development manager Teejay were both delighted when they met at the altar, and began to share their heartfelt vows. The meaningful declarations soon struck a nerve with bride Jacqui, who looked back on her own wedding with anger. She said that she felt her vows from husband Ryan weren’t as special.

After hearing Jacqui’s thoughts, a frustrated Ryan told the cameras: “What the hell is going on? I couldn’t believe she was serious.. That was the last straw for me. Are you serious? Today is not about us.” As Beth and Teejay headed off for their photoshoot, the rest of the group settled in for the reception, with Jacqui openly telling Ryan that he had disgusted her. The couple continued to argue, with their co-stars stepping in to try and mediate the heated conversation. Fellow bride Rhi then interjected, asking: “Jacqui, if you like Ryan so much, why would you message Jeff behind my back?” “Excuse me?” a shocked Ryan replied, with a screaming match later ensuing at the reception – leaving the wedding guests gobsmacked.

MAFS fans were not impressed with the couple “ruining” Beth and Teejay’s wedding, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their disapproval. “How is Jacqui making this wedding about her,” one person said, with another adding: “Oh god why is Jacqui kicking off at a wedding?” “Maybe Jacqui and Ryan planned this because why are they always arguing,” a third person said, with another similarly sharing: “Are we at a wedding or a commitment ceremony?” A fifth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a group so worn out by one of their fellow brides/grooms. It must be exhausting.” “Wow. And I mean WOWWWWW!!! I have never felt terror watching MAFS but tonight I have just witnessed unhinged behaviour,” another stunned fan said. Married at First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 7.30pm
