The programme, which is back on BBC One on Friday, 23 August, sees David and Jay meet with talented crafters at the Royal Three Counties Show in Malvern. With Jay’s incredible eye for furniture and ability to restore just about anything, it comes as no surprise that his own home is extremely chic. The TV star is believed to reside in Ironbridge, Shropshire, after relocating from Wolverhampton. He previously lived with wife Lisa-Marie Zbozen, but the couple called time on their marriage earlier this year. It was previously reported that Lisa, 43, moved out of the home she shared with Jay. Jay has given fans a glimpse into the cosy home in the past and also opened up about the decor in a feature with HouseBeautiful last year. The 54 year old described the location as “really nice”, revealing his home is located in the “middle of the countryside”.

Describing his living room, he revealed he has an extensive vinyl collection which takes up a lot of space. Jay said: “I spend most of my time in the front room with my record player. It’s quite sparse with two chairs as I don’t have a sofa.” He added: “It’s mainly decorated with records, there’s an obscene amount of records in there, maybe around 3,000.” The cosy space makes for the perfect relaxation space, with minimalist decor and modern furnishings. Jay said: “We’ve got white walls and one side is exposed brickwork. Then, we’ve got wooden flooring and a marble table that holds the speakers. There’s a TV on the wall and then all of the shelving units are covered with records.” He went on to reveal he likes “plain and simple” decor and isn’t a big fan of colour, usually opting for just black and white. Many items in his home also hold sentimental value or have interesting stories behind, including a duster brush his daughter gifted him and a rare vintage chair he bagged at an auction for just £7.

Jay’s home previously featured in his hour-long documentary, Jay Blades: Learning To Read at 51, which aired in 2022. The show documented Jay’s difficult journey as he attempted to learn to read later in life. He appeared alongside ex-wife Lisa, with the pair giving viewers a glimpse inside their abode. The home features an extremely neat front garden, which is surrounded by a thick hedge allowing them to maintain their privacy.
