Privacy Notice Congratulations are in order for Carlos Alcaraz who has been crowned Wimbledon men’s singles champion after winning against Novak Djokovic in a dramatic match on Sunday, 14 July. To mark the win, Kate Middleton presented the 21 year old tennis champion with the Wimbledon men’s trophy in what is her second public appearance since she shared the news of her cancer diagnosis back in March. Ahead of the game, the Princess Of Wales received a standing ovation from the crowd as she took to her seat in the Royal Box alongside her daughter Princess Charlotte and her younger sister Pippa Matthews.

For the occasion, 42 year old Kate, who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, looked sensational in a stunning purple dress which featured a tartan bow on the chest – a detail that may be familiar to royal fans. With the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club’s official colours being green and purple, the bow is a nod to her role as patron, and the Princess Of Wales first wore the bow accessory back in 2017. Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte wore a blue bow in her hair which matched her navy blue and white polka dot dress as she joined her mum for the special occasion.

The Princess Of Wales’ outing marks the second public appearance she has made after revealing that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy in an emotional video. Last month, mum-of-three Kate was seen for the first team since bravely sharing the news when she attended Trooping the Colour in London on Saturday, 15 June. Prior to attending the event, Kate issued a lengthy and personal statement, in which she gave an update and revealed she has “good days and bad days”. She said: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times. “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

The statement added that treatment was “ongoing” and would be for “a few more months”, with the royal adding that: “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.” Finishing off the statement, Kate thanked the public for their understanding and also thanked those who’d shared their own stories with her. “I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.
