Privacy NoticePrince Harry is celebrating his birthday today (15 September) and the Royal Family have flooded him with well-wishes. To mark the milestone birthday, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly keeping it low-key, celebrating with Meghan Markle and their kids, Archie, five, and two year old Lilibet. But it’s not all quiet celebrations as whispers suggest Harry could be gearing up for a heartfelt reunion with King Charles III during his upcoming UK visit. Sending virtual birthday messages from their X account, formerly known as Twitter, the Royal Family, including his father didn’t shy away from shouting out: “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!”

With the post, they included a photograph of Harry dressed in a smart grey suit as he smiled in a candid shot. It comes in a move that has raised a few eyebrows, considering the royal protocol usually reserves such online tributes for working members of the family. Taking the celebrations even further, Prince William and Kate Middleton retweeted the post from their own X account and added the caption: “Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!” The last time Harry received birthday wishes from the Royal Family’s official account was three years ago in 2021, when the late Queen was still alive, reports the Mirror. Similarly, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ account also publicly wished him a happy birthday in the same year. The prince shared with the BBC his enthusiasm about hitting a milestone and said he’s “excited” to be entering a new decade. In a chat with the BBC, Harry revealed that fatherhood and “sharpening my focus” have significantly altered his outlook on his milestone birthday this year. He shared: “I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40. Becoming a father of two incredibly kind and funny kids has given me a fresh perspective on life, as well as sharpening my focus in all my work.Being a dad is one of life’s greatest joys and has only made me more driven and more committed to making this world a better place. Bring on the next decade.”

Other Royal Family accounts are yet to share similar messages, although these could be posted later in the day. Harry has been caught up in a family feud since he and Meghan decided to step back from their Royal duties in 2020. The rift deepened after Harry openly criticised his family in his explosive Netflix series in 2022 and his contentious memoir, Spare, published last year. His strained relationship with his brother William was evident when they reportedly didn’t speak at a family funeral last month. Earlier reports suggested they hadn’t spoken for over two years following the death of the Queen.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
