Privacy NoticeZayn Malik has made the difficult decision to postpone his American tour dates following the tragic passing of fellow One Direction star Liam Payne. Liam Payne met a tragic end after falling from the balcony of his hotel room on the third floor in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Despite the rapid response of emergency services, he was pronounced dead upon their arrival due to severe injuries. The ‘Pillowtalk’ hitmaker, originally from Bradford, recently expressed his sorrow over Liam’s untimely death, regretting that he “never got to say thank you” to his former bandmate. Although they had lost touch over the years, Liam had spoken positively about Zayn shortly before his own death at 31, acknowledging that Zayn was doing well as he prepared for his upcoming tour.

Zayn, who has previously opened up about his struggle with anxiety during performances since leaving One Direction in 2015, announced just three days after Liam’s devastating death that he would be delaying the US leg of his Stairway To The Sky Tour until the following year. Taking to Instagram, where he connects with his 53.9 million followers, Zayn shared: “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour. The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.” Zayn announced he was leaving the band in 2015 citing “stress” and saying he wanted to be a “normal 22-year-old”. A year after, Liam, Louis, Niall and Harry announced an indefinite hiatus for the band after five studio albums and achieving worldwide success.

Argentine officials have hinted that the ex-One Direction member was by himself when he passed away, with a full investigation into the devastating incident now underway. Immediately after the tragic incident, police swiftly collected Liam’s phone, and it is set to play a crucial part in piecing together the young star’s last moments. According to insider info shared with The Sun, the lead-up to his tragic plunge appears “suspicious”, sparking a manhunt for an alleged drug dealer thought to have provided him with “illegal substances”.

Estimates say that Liam may have taken a fall from something like 13 or 14 metres, a height that caused “very serious injuries incompatible with life.” Echoing the sad sentiment, Alberto Crescenti, a spokesman for the City ambulance service, confirmed a roughly 40-metre fall had resulted in “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
