Privacy Notice Zara McDermott has opened up about ‘trusting her gut’ following her claims of misconduct against Strictly Come Dancing’s Graziano Di Prima. Zara took to Instagram with Lookfantastic to post a clip about one of their brands. Lookfantastic wrote on their page: “We chatted with @zara_mcdermott, our Brand of the Month @soldejaneiro’s ambassador, about what confidence means to her and how she finds joy in the little things”. In the video, Zara sits cross legged on a sunlounger and says: “I think confidence means something different to everyone, but for me it’s about trusting in myself. Trusting my gut, trusting my judgement on situations. Believing you can do hard things and just pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.”

Zara continues to say: “I think that you can find moments of joy in the small things and I really do think that that is the key to living a happy life. “Looking for the joy in places where you wouldn’t normally find it. For me, it’s important that I’m exactly the same off camera as I am on camera. People know when you’re not being your true, authentic self.” She posted a clip of the reel on her Instagram and says she ‘cannot believe’ that her edit has sold out, which she discovered after trying to buy products for her mum.

Just last week, it was revealed that Zara made a complaint about her Strictly Come Dancing pro-dancer partner Graziano who has been consequently axed by the BBC. Following the news, Zara made her own statement on the situation. On Tuesday morning, 16 July, Zara told fans via social media that she had “wrestled with the fear of opening up” as she “was scared about public backlash”. She also revealed how much of her experience on the show was ‘everything she’d ever dreamed of,’ although her “ experience inside the training room was very different.”
Zara and Graziano competed on Strictly Come Dancing last year
Meanwhile, Graziano said to his fans: “I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. While respecting the BBC HR process, I acknowledge it’s only right for the sake of the show that I step away.” More recently, Zara has posted snaps from her most recent holiday. She’s jetted away with her mum, Karen, her younger brother, Brad, and his girlfriend, Alice. Zara posted lots of snaps of them enjoying the sunshine with the caption: “some moments from the week”.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
