Privacy NoticeIf, like every other sane person on this planet, you are a fan of pizza then we have a competition that might just be to your liking. Everyone’s favourite pizza chain, Pizza Express, are going to be giving away a whopping £55,000 worth of restaurant vouchers via their second annual treasure hunt. The company will be hiding 55 golden dough balls in hidden locations across the whole of the UK, and each of them is worth £1,000 of pizza vouchers. That is more than you knead for a year… so what are you waiting for? Ready, steady, dough…

Currently the little golden orbs are being held in a secret place, but by Sunday, when the contest launches, they will be transported to their hiding places. If you are lucky enough to find the golden balls then you can trade them in for a thousand pounds worth of Pizza Express gift cards that can be shared with family and friends – essentially it is a platinum ticket to popularity! Zoe Bowley, managing director of Pizza Express, said of the competition: “With the search for 55 balls culminating on our very own birthday, we hope everyone joins in with what is set to be a truly epic celebration. “With the search for 55 balls culminating on our very own birthday, we hope everyone joins in with what is set to be a truly epic celebration.”

The 55 golden dough balls will be hidden around on Sunday 9 February, which just so happens to be National Pizza Day; now that’s the sort of holiday that we are keen to celebrate. The competition ends on Pizza Express’s 55th birthday, so you have a month and a half to hunt away. However, if getting out there and searching isn’t really your sort of thing, you may also be in with a chance of winning from the comfort of your own sofa.

The pizza firm have also shared that some of the golden balls will be in Pizza Express deliveries that are carried out by takeaway company Deliveroo. Additionally others will be hidden amongst their ‘Cook At Home’ range which is sold at certain supermarkets. But if you are having no luck in the shops or at home, it is worth visiting Instagram because the @PizzaExpress account will be sharing clues and they will also be launching the hashtag #PE55 so winners can share their findings.
