Privacy NoticeWalkers Crisps have released a set of crisp flavours that seem to have come just at the right time as we lament the closure of our favourite high street takeaways during lockdown. The brand teamed up with UK high street chains Nando’s, PizzaExpress, YO! Sushi, Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Las Iguanas to create the ‘Taste Icons’ flavours based of some of their most popular dishes. You can get a takeaway in a bag of crisps with Nando’s Peri Peri Chicken, Yo Sushi Katsu Curry, Pizza Express American Hot Pizza, chilli con carne by Las Iguanas, and Gourmet Burger Kitchen Cheeseburger flavours.

The release comes just as restaurants and takeaways across the UK were forced to close down amid the coronavirus outbreak and to prevent further spread. The new flavours were spotted by a avid snack fan, Kevs Snack Reviews, which is an account on Instagram that reviews snacks and treats as well as bring any news about new snacks spotted out in the wild. It appears the crisps were first spotted in a Home Bargains store by Emily Fairhurst, who also runs a snack account, revealing that the non-essential item could be picked up if you were able to access a supermarket or store, or were ordering a delivery to arrive at home.

Single packets are priced at 69p, but more than likely for crisp fans you’ll find yourself opting for a larger grab bag for 84p. Selected stores will also be selling five-bag multi-packs for £1 or packs of 15 for £2.50, according to Mail Online. Unfortunately the promotion that appears on the packets come amid the global coronavirus crisis, which offers a voucher for ‘2 for 1’ mains at the selected restaurant on the flavour you choose.

As a result of this Walkers and the partner restaurants have announced the redemption deadline has been pushed back to December. So if you pick up a packet you can hold on to your vouchers and help support the restaurants once they hopefully re-open by the end of the year. You can claim your voucher by using the 10-digit promotional code found on the packet, head to the Walkers website and enter the details, you then receive an email voucher. According to the Sun, as part of the promotion, the crisps company is donating £1 million of support to UK food banks, in a partnership with the Trussell Trust to help to provide meals for those most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
