And holiday rental company Vrbo has now released its list of top holiday homes in the UK for 2025, with a number of stunning homes from each corner of the country featured. Topping the list, a charming 1550 castle in Scotland’s Kilmartin, Argyll and Bute tops the chart has been named one of Vrbo’s Global Holiday Homes Of The Year – with a wild swimming pool, organic fruit and veg patch and a rustic wood burner completing the property. Further South, you can even stay on your very own private island in the Lake District at Hermitage House, a manor house which features it’s own casino and private cinema. Kilmartin Castle has made it onto Vrbo’s Holiday Homes Of The Year global list for 2025, and with it’s rich history and antique design, it’s not hard to see why. Originally built in 1550, this castle sleeps up to ten people across five rustic bedrooms, with antique furniture and artwork throughout the home. If you’re feeling confident enough to brave the Northern chill, the castle has a wild swimming pond in it’s landscaped garden, which also features a BBQ, pizza oven and outdoor kitchen area for al fresco dining.
