Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri has revealed that she questioned whether she should still be in the competition after an “emotional” moment behind-the-scenes of the BBC show. The ex Love Island star, who is partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec on the 2024 series, is a frontrunner to win after scoring the first ten of the competition with her Charleston in Week Four. However, the 26-year-old has revealed that despite the high score, she began to doubt herself after receiving backlash online. Speaking to Fleur East on Strictly Come Dancing’s It Takes Two, Tasha said that she questioned whether she “deserved” to be in the competition.

“I’ll be honest, I think I had quite a rough week last week emotionally,” she said. “Emotionally, I think there was a lot of noise that happened after we did Charleston, and there was kind of a lot of people saying a lot of different things, and I started to feel like, ‘Do I even deserve to be here?’ “There was a point where I did start to feel like that, and there was a point where actually in rehearsals had a really good chat and a good heart to heart. Aljaž was really there for me, picked me up said, ‘Look, you do deserve to be here, you’ve got this. We’re in this together.’ So I kind of let that noise cloud my head a little bit in rehearsals and eventually I thought, ‘You know what? I’m here for myself, I’m here to make my friend’s family proud and take on this experience.’ So I’m going in with a positive attitude. I’m not gonna let it get to me and work harder this week.” Sign up to OK!’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free
Tasha revealed that Aljaz picked her back up and said that she did deserve to be in the competition
Tasha will be tackling Halloween Week at the weekend, with the star dancing the Samba to Reel 2 Real’s I Like To Move It Move It. While Aljaž returned to Strictly to rejoin the cast of professional dancers, a few of the Strictly stars did not receive celebrity partners this year – including Carlos Gu. The professional recently opened up about the bosses’ decision on Aimee Fuller’s Monday Mile podcast, saying: “I’m still doing some of the group numbers. If you are not in the competition, you have more free time, I think I’m just using my time wisely. We’re going to go husband hunting, you know, we’re going to improve our skills and learning. “When the season starts, when you’re busy, your mind is literally on fire and twirling. You never really have the opportunity to really relax. I think I really need that this year. I think this is a good opportunity for me to be doing that, because through that I can learn something about myself that I didn’t know before.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
