Swish living room, and white sofa regret One of the standout features of Martel’s home is her stylish living room. She has chosen chic and sophisticated decor, including polished floorboards and a cosy fireplace, which add warmth to the neutral colour scheme. A cosy fireplace is the focal point of the room
Martel shared a funny moment about her sofa that lots of busy mums will understand. She posted: “That moment as you come down the stairs, the kids are asleep and you think: ‘Sofa, now, mine’. And no, with three wee boys (or me with a glass of red) I wouldn’t get a white sofa again.” Enormous windows to let the sunshine in
Martel’s home has incredible floor to ceiling windows
The huge windows of Martel’s home give the property a very glam look, but they also serve an important functional purpose, allowing plenty of sunshine, warmth, and, of course, mood-boosting views. Martel told Hello! magazine that she designed her house to be cosy even though Scotland can be very cold. She said: “When you live in Scotland, it can get so very cold – and yet our house is always toasty. When designing our home, we realised the weather might not be tropical but the East of Scotland is so bright and sunny – so put windows almost everywhere. Not only do you see the amazing Perthshire hills and pinch-me sunsets but no matter how cold it is outside, so long as it’s sunny, the house is warm. Solar panels also help.” Dream farmhouse kitchen The star has created her dream kitchen by mixing modern style with classic farmhouse elements. The room is painted in a chic dark green and features white countertops. An AGA oven is the perfect addition for any food lover. The house also boasts a trendy spiral staircase and a peaceful balcony connected to the main bedroom.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
