Mini-series Douglas Is Cancelled will premiere on Thursday, June 27, at 9pm on ITV and will consist of four episodes in total. The remaining three episodes will air weekly in the same timeslot, meaning the finale should air on Thursday, July 11, barring any last-minute changes.

For those who can’t wait to see how it all unfolds for Douglas, there’s good news. After the first episode airs on ITV on June 27, all four episodes will be available on its streaming service, ITVX. This means fans can binge-watch the comedy-drama at their leisure. The show was created by acclaimed writer Steven Moffat, known for his work on Sherlock, Doctor Who and Dracula. While some might think it’s ripped from the headlines, iNews reports that Moffat actually penned the tale as a play five years prior to the media storms involving BBC’s Huw Edwards and ITV’s Philip Schofield.

He shared with The Guardian: “It doesn’t matter which period you put this story in: there will be somebody who fell from grace in TV.” The series isn’t just about the buzzworthy theme of cancel culture; it also boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Hugh Bonneville of Downton Abbey and Paddington fame takes the lead as Douglas Bellowes. Karen Gillan stars alongside him as Madeline, Douglas’ junior co-host with a deceptive streak.
