Privacy NoticeBritain’s Got Talent came to an end over the weekend with a sensational live final, which saw Syndie Christmas bag the coveted winning slot. But as Ssaulabi Performance Troupe gave their all in the hopes of winning – they ended up having to dash to A&E after an accident in the performance. Now, Chanwoo Jeong, a member of the troupe, has revealed the extent of his injuries by sharing a snap to Instagram from hospital. Showing his horrific leg injury, the performer took a picture of his leg bandaged up and wrote ‘sigh’. During their performance, in which the troupe smashed planks whilst being thrown in the air, two members collided mid air, as Chanwoo was the one who came tumbling down to the ground.

He managed to crawl offstage before being seen to by the show’s medical team and going to hospital, as a spokesperson said on Monday: “During last night’s live final, a member of Ssaulabi Performance Troupe was injured. He was quickly seen by our onsite medical team before going to hospital for further treatment. All at BGT wish him a speedy recovery.” The performer was visited in hospital by his fellow troupe members, as they shared a snap to Instagram from his bedside and had brought him a Paddington teddy bear. During the final, concerned viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the mishap, despite the show going on. One group member however, did stop to check up on the injured party, who was seen crawling off the stage.

“I’m pretty sure that one of the team members injured, if not broke, his leg during that performance,” said one. “That guy just broke his leg!” exclaimed another. Judge Alesha Dixon, who sat alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli, announced that she hoped the performer was ‘okay’ after the shock accident. The troupe were Ant and Dec’s Golden Buzzer act, but unfortunately failed to make a ‘medal placing position’ in the final, finishing in 10th place, just above skipping troupe Harribow. It has since been revealed that 28-year-old singer Sydnie Christmas took a huge 27% of the public vote. Jack Rhodes came second with 15.8% of the vote and Abigail and Afronitaaa were third with 10.4%.

Some fans claimed the result to be a ‘fix’ as Sydnie was the last act to perform, which she has now opened up about. “It wouldn’t have mattered if I’d gone first. I don’t know what to say, soul destroying isn’t it?” Sydnie told OK! “It’s difficult, it takes it away from how hard the journey was or how rewarding the success is.” “I had to graft. I had to really graft and believe and want. I’m focussing on the people that did support me because I owe it all to them, without them it wouldn’t have happened.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
