Privacy NoticeBritain’s Got Talent fans have been left furious as a little girl was seen crying on stage after the live results determined that her choir group was going home. On Saturday night’s show on 25 May it was left to the judges to decide whether Japanese double dutch group Haribo or Ravi’s Dream Team choir would be going through to the Grand Final, which will take place on Sunday, 2 June. The decision went to deadlock, after Bruno Tonioli picked Haribo to join magician Jack Rhodes in the final, whilst Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon chose Ravi’s Dream Team. Head Judge Simon Cowell then chose Haribo, leaving it to go to an audience vote. It was then revealed that the vote ensured Haribo went through to the Grand Final, leaving the little girl sobbing onstage.

Fuming viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent at Britain’s Got Talent showing the girl crying, as one wrote: “Well awkward moment when #haribow over celebrated with children crying literally few feet away from that. Doesnt sit well.” Another fumed: “Little kids crying on prime time tv, good old ITV,” as a third wrote: “Poor kids crying. What a shame.”

“See this is why you don’t put kids on the live show… can’t handle bad news and now the little girl is crying,” said fourth person, whilst a fifth asked: “Was the little girl crying or was it too loud for her?” Over the weekend, Ant McPartlin returned to host the live BGT shows alongside his best pal and co-host, Declan Donnelly, after becoming a father for the first time in May. Anne-Marie – Ant’s wife of three years – gave birth two weeks ago and brought their son to visit his dad’s place of work for the BGT semi-finals. While Ant has been soaking up time at home for the early days, he joined Declan Donnelly to present Britain’s Got Talent.

But when Ant spotted Anne-Marie, 46, and Wilder – who were outside but shielded from the rain with a giant umbrella – the TV presenter was beaming and quickly ran up to greet them both. With Anne-Marie already mum to two daughters; Daisy and Poppy, from a previous relationship, Wilder is Ant’s first little one. The pair welcomed him on 14 May, announcing the happy news on social media. Ant shared a picture of himself shirtless and cradling the newborn, writing: “Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick McPartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54 am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon.
