Privacy NoticeEastEnders star Bobby Brazier has been filming a role in a new TV series, it has been announced. The actor, who has won a National Television Award for his role as Freddie Slater in the soap, has joined the cast of Paramount+ drama Curfew, a six-part series that began filming in London earlier this year. Curfew is based on Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark, and is set in a society governed by ‘The Women’s Safety Act’, where men are all tracked by ankle tags and are confined to their homes by a strict 7pm curfew every night. When a woman is found brutally murdered during the curfew hours, veteran police officer Pamela Green believes a man must be responsible, but if that is the case, her investigation could threaten the curfew itself – and there are powerful people who will do whatever it takes to make sure that does not happen.

Sarah Parish stars as Pamela, while Bobby Brazier plays James, a vocal schoolboy who advocates the abolishment of the curfew. He’s not the only EastEnder in the cast – two former stars of the soap also have roles in the thriller. Lucy Benjamin plays DCI Sue Ferguson, Pamela’s superior, while soap legend Anita Dobson is Janet, a woman who runs a ‘motherhouse’, a refuge-style home for women who do not wish to live with men. The cast also includes former Doctor Who companion Mandip Gill, singer/actress Alexandra Burke, Mayflies actor Mitchell Robertson and Gavin and Stacey’s Larry Lamb.

Fans of Bobby’s popular character Freddie needn’t worry that the actor is planning to leave EastEnders, as his role in Curfew can be filmed alongside his performance in the show. Of course it isn’t the first time Bobby has pursued career opportunities outside Albert Square. The 20 year old actor and model has previously taken a break to compete in Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, where he and dance partner Dianne Buswell were runners up, and he also participated in the Strictly live tour that finished in February this year. It was also confirmed on Friday 12 April that Bobby has renewed his EastEnders contract, as reported by the Mirror . A source said: “Thankfully he has now decided to renew his contract and everyone is thrilled. He still does have other projects he is in talks for, but they will run alongside his work in the show – much like Molly Rainford’s single last year or Tameka Empson’s recent play.” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
