Privacy Notice This year’s Britain’s Got Talent winner, singer Sydnie Christmas, has written a tense statement on Instagram in response to social media allegations from viewers that the result of the hugely successful talent show was fixed in her favour. Fans were quick to spot that it received support from judge Amanda Holden, who pressed her Golden Buzzer for Sydnie and secured her a spot in the semi-final. Posting alongside a photo of the email she received inviting her to her original BGT audition, Sydnie began by thanking those who supported her: “How do I even start to write this. To my dear family and friends near and far. There is not a word out there that is big enough to describe my love, and gratitude to every single one of you who believed in me. I pray I made you proud. I’m glad I could give you all something back and something to show for, after supporting me for all these years.”

Sydnie, who was a favourite to win BGT from her first audition, also noted that everyone she worked with on the show was “amazing” and added: “Meeting all the amazing contestants was the highlight. Best people ever.” Then, writing “Righty then…,” Sydnie tackled the people who have been commenting online that the line-up for the BGT final, where she performed last of all, was fixed to ensure she remained in voters’ minds and won the competition. For the trolls. It’s heart breaking to see. But listen up. You don’t know me or the fierce back bone I have, I owe that to my supportive family and friends. I’ve been dealing with judgement in this industry all my life. “So listen up,” she continued. “YOU CANNOT TOUCH US. Because of my AMAZING FRIENDS, FAMILY AND EVERY SUPPORTER OF MINE. You simply cannot touch us. Just love here, always has been. I hand on heart wish you keyboard worriors happiness. It’s hard seeing people so angry. LOVE over powers all… I love you all. And LETS AV IT!!!!”

Lots of fans commented on her post, adding their support. One wrote: “You won because you are ridiculously talented and worthy of this opportunity!!! Really loved watching you and can’t wait to see where this journey takes you! Huge congrats to you,” while another added: “Crazy that people thought you didn’t go through the proper auditioning process and that you were scouted and all that shizzz. You’re amazing and I really hoped that you’d win!” Judge Amanda Holden liked the post and commented “Yes Sydnie,” while a representative for semi finalists The Phoenix Boys wrote: “We always teach our boys to be resilient and aware of those that just don’t fully understand the wider world. People are unkind and spiteful and we do all we can to protect them from and prepare them for that. Luckily we didn’t get anything really negative from the show but the boys were certainly prepared.” “You won because you deserved to win. There aren’t many people as humble as you with a talent to match, so own it and be very proud of who you are, THAT is why you won this.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
