Privacy NoticeA weather presenter refused to go quietly after being let go from his job, delivering a fearless rant telling viewers in his final forecast: “If I’d had the opportunity I wouldn’t have wanted to go this way. It’s what happens when you get sacked.” Forecaster Paul Burt, 51, also complained in an interview that he’d had only “55 seconds to say my goodbyes” after a career that began back in 1996. He opened his forecast saying: “Hello everybody. Yes, it is my last weather for the network tonight. Let’s get straight into it everyone because it’s the most important thing is your Sunday and not me.” However, he launched into a commentary about his departure when newsreader Samantha Heathwood paid tribute to his time at the network. She said: “Burty, we can’t let you go tonight without thanking you for your passionate weather reporting over the past decade and a bit.”
