Privacy NoticeRuPaul’s Drag Race star Morphine Love Dion is ‘grateful to be alive’ after being involved in a horrific car crash which left one person dead and several taken to hospital. The drag queen, who was on the show’s 16th season, was in an Uber in Los Angeles during the early hours of Saturday morning when the incident happened. A statement posted on Morphine’s Instagram story read: “Saturday night, Morphine was in a serious car accident while in an Uber. She suffered multiple injuries but is grateful to be alive. “Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Some space and time is appreciated as she focuses on healing,” the statement concluded.

The fatal incident is said to have left five people injured, and one dead, Entertainment Weekly reports. Canada’s Drag Race season 3 star Kaos, was also involved in the accident. They posted an update to Instagram, explaining they would explain everything when they’re ‘in the right headspace’. “Just so everyone knows, I am ok [and have] just been on bed rest,” Kaos’ statement began. “I will be making a post explaining what happened this weekend once I am in the right headspace and also can explain it all and the accident.” “For now [I’m] resting — and sorry, won’t be posting any dragcon stuff right now, either. That will come later. Prob next week!”

On a later post, the star continued: “If anyone has posts or pics or stories of me with them from Dragcon I will be resharing those though as they are uplifting and making me feel positive and better!!! So feel free to share!” According to Entertainment Weekly, California Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle crash at around 3:30 a.m, although other cars are said to have reportedly also crashed at the scene, creating a pile up. Morphine and Kaos were in the area for RuPaul’s DragCon LA. “Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this gut-wrenching crash. We are working to get in touch with the driver and riders to check on their well-being,” an Uber spokesperson told the publication. Geneva Karr, who was also on the show’s 16th season, shared Morphines statement to her own Instagram story, as she added in the caption: “Surgeries went well and now To a speedy recovery, love you hermana.” Xunami Muse, who also starred in the season shared a message of support on X, formerly known as Twitter, which read: “Her and everyone else involved are doing fine.
