Privacy NoticeA TV icon has expressed their relief after their “walking miracle” 10 year old son was discharged from hospital following a 33-day long stay. Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler revealed earlier this month that Beau had been diagnosed with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) after what appeared to be a “normal virus” had “turned into a nightmare”. However, after spending more than 30-days in hospital, he has finally returned home. In a recent Instagram post, the actress shared a heartwarming video of her son walking down a hospital hallway while being cheered on by people who’d lined up on either side of the space.

You are such a champ.” According to Great Ormond Street Hospital, ADEM is a rare inflammatory condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. The condition often follows a minor infection, such as a cold. ADEM can cause symptoms including nausea, vomiting, headache, sleepiness and vision problems and, in severe cases, it can lead to seizures.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
