Privacy NoticeDani Harmer looked happy, healthy and toned as she posed for photos at a Girls Aloud concert last week. The former Tracy Beaker star appeared to be in her best shape ever, smiling at the cameras and wearing a figure-hugging grey patterned dress that showed off her body transformation. With her trademark dark curly hair, Dani, 35, is still instantly recognisable as the star of the CBBC adaptation of Jacqueline Wilson’s books, which she starred in during the early Noughties. Fans will have spotted how great the former child star was looking as she attended a priority gig for Girls Aloud, where she also showed off her sense of style in Doc Martens, multi-coloured neon nails and a boldly patterned outfit.

Dani is now a mum to daughter Avarie-Belle, eight, and son Rowan, two, but despite her squeaky-clean image she previously admitted that there were some wild misconceptions about her life following childhood fame. Speaking to former co-star Holly Gibbs in 2022, she cleared up some rumours on the From Early YouTube series. Holly asked: “Do you think there are any misconceptions about finding fame, good or bad, at an early age?” Dani replied: “Yeah I think that everyone assumes that I’ve taken loads of drugs at some point and ended up in rehab, which I’ve never done guys. I’m probably the only child star who has never done any of those things.” She added: “I am squeaky clean, and proud of it thank you.”

The actress, who has recently played an older version of the character in a Tracy Beaker spin-off series, also admitted: “I get really weird trolling messages all the time and its draining – and I’m 33 – so I don’t know what my younger self would’ve been like, I probably would’ve quit!” Dani broke out of her Tracy Beaker role in 2012 when she took part in Strictly Come Dancing alongside Vincent Simone, finishing in an impressive fourth place. She has also told how her own experiences of being a child star have affected her parenting, telling the BBC: “I kind of realised how important it is to enjoy being a kid! As much as I wouldn’t change my childhood for anything, I did miss out on things like going to friends’ birthdays, going to sleepovers. Prom – I never did that. I missed out on quite big milestone moments, so I’m very aware of that with my daughter, and I will do with my son when he gets a bit older.” She added: “Now, I am really conscious of letting her be silly, talking about bums because she finds it hilarious, just stuff like that – because it is such a magical, exciting time before you reach being an adult – which sucks!”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
