Privacy Notice Coronation Street star Ruxandra Porojnicu has opened up on her search for ‘The One’ as she revealed she has been single for three years. Ruxandra — who made her dramatic return to the cobbles last week as Alina Pop — admitted that she’s a “hopeless romantic” and is hoping to find true love, unlike her character’s ill-fated relationship with Tyrone Dobbs. In a chat with The Sun on Sunday, the star confessed: “I believe in fairytales, I think that’s why I’m still single. Men do slide into my DMs. But I’m more of a romantic person and would love to meet someone in real life when out and about or in a coffee shop. I’ve been single for the last few years. I’m a hopeless romantic and hope to find true love one day.”

Coronation Street fans have whipped up a fresh theory about who might be the real dad of Alina Pop’s little boy, Dorin. Last week saw Dorin’s soap debut alongside mum Alina, who popped back into the scene after being away for three years, leaving a gobsmacked Tyrone Dobbs to discover he fathered a child with her without knowing. Alina didn’t plan on sticking around Weatherfield when she cruised back in as a trial witness, hoping no one would catch on to her covert son. Nonetheless, her plan went awry, and upon being duped into returning to the cobbles, she reluctantly confirmed that Tyrone indeed was the tot’s dad.

Meanwhile, others speculate a previous spark could put Adam Barlow in the frame, who nearly had a romance with Alina back in the day, with one viewer guessing: “It’s definitely Adam’s son,” backed up by nods from fans. Ruxandra spilled on whether she’s preparing for a lengthy return or if she might make a quick exit once more. “I think it would be nice, I would love for her to stick around. I don’t think she’d have chosen to come back this early because her child is so young,” reports the Mirror. “She didn’t want to take him back and bring new people into his life like his father, it’s complicated. He’s got sisters too. Being back is too much, she needed time away to heal. She did some healing for sure in those years away but she needs more time to be away from the street.” On Alina’s relationship with her child, the star added: “She finally has someone because she was kind of alone and back home, she has a family but having her child, a little family, makes things different.
