Privacy Notice Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes made a nostalgic return to This Morning in a throwback clip from over a decade ago, which was aired on the ITV show. On Friday’s episode (August 30), hosts Sian Welby and Craig Doyle chatted with a woman who had a phobia of fancy dress costumes. Sharnie Christie first appeared on the ITV programme back in 2011, hoping to conquer her fear. In the flashback footage, Sharnie is seen sitting down with former hosts Ruth and Eamonn, alongside TV therapists Nik and Eva Speakman. In the clip, Ruth can be heard reassuring: “We’re going to hopefully sort this today ok, so let’s pull back the curtain.” As the golden curtain was drawn back, Sharnie was confronted with a snowman and a donkey costume. However, seeing the fancy dress outfits up close led to an emotional breakdown for Sharnie. Tears streaming and visibly shaking, Sharnie quickly turned away. Recognising the severity of her phobia, Eamonn instructed producers to close the curtains again, reports the Mirror. Since the incident, the video of Sharnie’s reaction has resurfaced and gone viral once more.

Returning to This Morning 13 years after her initial traumatic experience, Sharnie was a completely transformed woman. Speaking to the presenters, she detailed the extent of her previous phobia. She confessed: “So it was taking over everything that you wouldn’t really imagine. So something as simple as walking down the high street, I would have that fear in me like is there going to be someone in fancy dress. She shared: “So it took everything in me because you’re on high alert. You can never really relax so it took a lot of my energy.”
