Privacy NoticeThis Morning’s Josie Gibson had a bit of a mishap during a cooking segment when she nearly “burnt off her finger tips” live on-air. The 39-year-old presenter was about to enjoy a chicken skewer fresh from the air-fryer, not realising it was still scorching hot. Her co-host Rylan Clark quickly stepped in, jokingly suggesting a trip to “A&E”, causing an outburst of laughter in the ITV studio. The pair were joined by TV chef Nathan Anthony, who was demonstrating how simple it is to create a summer menu using the popular kitchen gadget, however, things didn’t go quite as planned. Eager to dig in, Josie grabbed the kebab by the wooden stick, only to drop it immediately, exclaiming that it was a “bit hot”.

Trying to recover from her on-air gaffe, Josie held up the cooled skewer and remarked: “Looking at that you’d think that had been done on a BBQ, wouldn’t you?” Rylan quipped: “I’m going to take you off to A&E in a minute.” To which Josie responded: “I’ve got no fingertips left but it’s all good.” Further chaos ensued when Nathan confessed that his air fryer flatbreads hadn’t turned out as expected.

Rylan forced to step in twice during This Morning

Stepping in for the second time to remedy the situation, Rylan declared: “We won’t judge you for that [Nathan], we’ll just say it was an accident on television.” Nathan responded: “That’s live TV for you,” before adding: “Don’t worry, you can do them [the flatbreads] in the pan,” to reassure fans that the tried and tested hob method would work a treat at home. Josie and Rylan both struggled to withhold their giggles after realising the entire segment had been somewhat of a disaster from the get-go.
