Privacy NoticeMatthew Wright, a regular on This Morning, has received an outpouring of support after being rushed to the hospital and describing his latest health update as “a bit grim, frankly”. The 59 year old took to Twitter on Sunday (July 14) to share with his followers that he was back in A&E due to severe pain. In his tweet, he wrote: “Unbelievable. I’m back in hospital after the nerve kicked off big time, screaming grinding pain. Paramedics once again incredible but no resolution on the horizon which is a bit grim frankly x.” Earlier in the month, Matthew had opened up about his health struggles, revealing that he was hospitalised due to severe neck pain amid moving house.

Just hours before this, the LBC presenter had shared that he was recovering well, tweeting: “I’m doing ok – pregabalin is good, pain now just annoying, I don’t want to tear my head off any more! Getting an MRI tomorrow and guided steroid injection some time after. Hopefully that’ll do the job thanks again for the love never experienced pain like it! “. A few hours later, he updated his followers about another trip to A&E due to “screaming grinding pain”, praising the NHS and expressing hope for improvement in the coming weeks. His tweet read: “More drugs, stronger ones and a hope things might improve in the next couple of weeks. F*****g hope so coz I’ve had enough of this already. Thanks for your good wishes again.” Fans were quick to offer their support to the presenter amid his ongoing health struggles. One person tweeted: “I’m so sorry to hear this. Nerve pain is excruciating. I hope some relief can brought asap.”

Another wished him a speedy recovery, as another told the star they were sending ‘positive vibes’. A third sympathised: “Sorry to hear this, really hope you are better soon!”. Another expressed their concern: “So sorry to hear this. Thoughts are frequently with you, hope this gets sorted soon.” The star previously informed his followers about the tough decision he faced regarding a “nerve blocking drug” to alleviate the pain or enduring “face months of pain”. “Not sure I’ve got a choice,” he confessed at the time. “Meds today are definitely keeping worst of pain at bay.” Matthew had also spoken about his neck pains as being “off the scale,” as he looked ahead to having scans in hospital.
