The show, presented by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, kicked off on Friday 14 February with a red double-decker bus driving straight onto the studio floor. Inside were couples set to renew their vows later in the programme, along with the two hosts and vicar/journalist Kate Bottley. After disembarking from the bus to chat with viewers, Dermot and Alison announced it was time for the couples to exit the bus for some special This Morning makeovers ahead of their big moment. However, it seemed no one had informed the couples which way to go after leaving the bus, resulting in the brides and grooms standing at the bottom of the bus stairs while Dermot and Alison addressed the cameras. Spotting them lingering behind him, Dermot stepped in to guide them in the right direction, akin to an air traffic controller on a runway, as Alison tried to keep her composure, directing the first confused couple with “it’s that way, go round that way darling.”

“I’m so sorry,” Dermot apologised to the couples, with Alison chiming in: “They are going off to get ready for their nuptials, you all look great by the way,” as Dermot attempted to stifle his laughter. “Where are they supposed to go?” he asked his co-host, who responded with laughter, saying, “I don’t know! I never got the memo!” The Valentine’s Day episode was filled with romantic vibes. Dermot shared a throwback snap from his 2012 wedding to Dee Koppang, while Alison revealed that the bracelet she was sporting wasn’t a gift from her boyfriend, David Putman, but a sentimental present from Dermot, reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, presenter Kate Lawler added a dash of chaos to the show from Paris, where she was announcing a competition. With the iconic Eiffel Tower as her backdrop, Kate held up a sign reading ‘ask me to take your photo’ and scurried around looking for willing couples. Despite most lovebirds in the city having their own professional photographers, she managed to find a British couple who agreed to have their picture taken. However, things took an awkward turn when Kate repeatedly urged the visibly uncomfortable man to propose to his girlfriend on one knee. His refusal led to an embarrassing moment for him, his partner, Kate, and the viewers watching the cringe-worthy scene unfold on TV.
