When you’re jet-setting, it’s hard to resist a beauty steal from the duty-free trolley, especially now that airlines are stocking big-name brands. We’ve uncovered British Airways’ top skincare product that you can buy without even leaving the ground – and it might not be what you’d guess. The best-selling skincare item on British Airways flights is Korean beauty brand Wonderbalm’s star product – a rich, multi-purpose balm perfect for a number of uses, from soothing dry skin to removing make-up. British Airways has seen a 20% monthly sales increase, even outperforming some liquor brands. Not only can you find this gem on various airlines, but it’s also available on Amazon for £29 – a much more convenient option if you don’t have a holiday on the horizon. With a simple ingredient list of shea butter and natural oils, this thick, nourishing balm melts into your skin when warmed between fingers and has a multitude of uses. According to Wonderbalm, it can serve as a ‘skin moisturiser, hair mask, lip balm, after shave balm, hand cream and cuticle moisturiser, make-up primer, make-up remover, eye cream, tattoo aftercare, hydrating skin mask, and for burns, cuts and scrapes’. This makes it an ideal travel companion when luggage space is at a premium, and a godsend during this season when skin tends to be drier than usual. Customers are raving about this “perfect multiuse product” on the Wonderbalm website, with one shopper sharing: “I can’t stop recommending this product to friends and family! Have swapped out my cleansing balm, lip balms and hand cream for this one product! It really works wonders as an overnight lip mask to avoid any cracking from the cold weather,” reports the Mirror. Another fan highlighted its prowess in tackling pesky holiday woes like insect bites and sunburn, saying: “I used Wonderbalm after I was bitten several times by a mosquito. Not only did it take the redness down of each bite, but it really soothed my skin and prevented me from itching. My husband was also suffering from a sunburn patch on his arm, so I suggested he used this to help soothe and moisturise the area.”

A third fan dubbed it the ‘best balm ever’, writing: “I wonder what I did before I got this balm. I got a pot for my granddaughter too and she loves it as a lip balm and night moisturiser. It is so versatile and smells divine. Well worth the money, I shall order again but a pot will last a long fry see while. I’m really pleased.” However, not everyone’s experience was as glowing; an Amazon customer found it less than ideal for facial use due to its consistency, noting: “Good quality balm, but it is difficult to use as the texture is stiff. Could do with being more creamy.” (Remember, though, Wonderbalm does suggest giving the balm a little warm-up between your fingers before you apply it to your skin.) We’re also big fans of other multitasking dry skin saviours that we keep coming back to. These include the iconic Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, which is currently on offer, down from £31 to £23.25; it comes in a handy tube and has a smoother texture. Another favourite is the CeraVe Advanced Repair Ointment for Very Dry and Chapped Skin, now £8.80.
