The thrilling third season of The Traitors hit our screens on New Year’s Day, with Claudia Winkleman hosting the show that pits 25 players against each other as a ‘faithful’ or ‘traitor’, diving into psychological warfare for a jaw-dropping prize fund. Although it’s early days in the 2025 series, we’ve already waved goodbye to some contestants, and there’s already been a big prediction for this year’s winner. The odds are in with BetIdeas who have identified their top picks for the 2025 winner, despite there only being three episodes so far. Minah Shannon, who was branded a traitor by Claudia in the first episode, is leading the charge at 3/1 and is the favourite to win, according to the bookies.

Hot on her heels is Kasim, the hospital doctor playing a ‘faithful’, is pegged at 7/1 for the win, while Linda, another traitor, follows close at 8/1 after stirring the pot right from the start. Even siblings Armani and Maia have made waves, with Armani lurking at 14/1 and Maia trailing slightly at 16/1 in the winning stakes. BetIdeas’ spokesperson Lee Astley shared with the Daily Record: “It’s all to play for in the opening few days of The Traitors but the odds suggest that Minah Shannon could be among the finalists of the new series.” They added: “Minah, who was made a traitor by Claudia Winkleman in the first episode, is the 3/1 frontrunner to win the series, putting her ahead of Kasim in the betting at 7/1.” And it seems like Linda and Armani, at 8/1 and 14/1, respectively, have kept the competition fierce, hinting that Minah might just have the edge as the traitor most likely to clinch the cash prize. Meanwhile, viewers are convinced they have rumbled how three contestants will return to the show after a twist at the end of the episode on Friday night (3 January). At the start of the series, 25 hopefuls boarded a train to head toward the Scottish castle when suddenly Claudia halted the journey, announcing that one person from each carriage had to disembark within 10 minutes for the rest of the players to earn up to £10,000.

Fozia, Jack and Alexander bravely chose to leave, which, with seven minutes remaining, added £7,000 to the ultimate prize pot for the winner. However, in an intriguing turn of events at the end of Friday’s episode, it was hinted that those who selflessly stepped off would be making a comeback to the castle as shadowy figures were seen riding towards the Highland setting – leaving fans to wonder how they will re-enter the game. Eagle-eyed viewers have shared their theories online, with comments such as: “I wonder if the traitors get to choose out of the 3 new guys to recruit a traitor #TheTraitors,” and “Rail replacement?! The train people! I bet they have to choose 1 to join the traitor team.” Another chimed in: “Oh the 3 from the start are coming back… please make two of them traitors im begging for fozia and alexander,” while another excitedly speculated, “THAT’S THE THREE WHO GOT OFF THE TRAIN ISN’T IT?! PLEASE!!”
