The 54 year old presenter entered a not guilty plea at Worcester Crown Court to one charge related to Lisa-Marie Zbozen. The charge alleges that controlling and coercive behaviour occurred in an intimate or family relationship from January 1 2023 to September 12 this year. Lisa-Marie announced their split via an Instagram post on May 2. Jay, who resides in Claverley, Shropshire, appeared before Judge James Burbidge KC, the Recorder of Worcester, on Friday. Furniture restorer Jay, who was made an MBE for services to craft in 2022, found fame on The Repair Shop, the restoration programme he has presented since 2017, which sees members of the public take worn-out family heirlooms to be restored by a team of experts. Jay also presented the BBC’s Money For Nothing until 2020, and has appeared on shows including Celebrity Masterchef and Celebrity Bake Off. In March 2023, he became Buckinghamshire New University’s first chancellor having studied for a degree in criminology and philosophy from 2001. Last year, in May 2023 he won a daytime Bafta TV award along with other members of The Repair Shop for a special featuring the King, who was at the time the Prince of Wales.

However, in a statement previously posted on their website, Buckinghamshire New University said: “Jay Blades MBE has resigned from his role as Chancellor at Buckinghamshire New University with immediate effect. We thank Jay for his loyal service to the University and will be making no further comment.” Announcing the end of their marriage on Instagram in May, just 18 months after their marriage, Lisa said in a lengthy post: “I don’t think I’ve cried so much ever.” Since the allegations, were made against BBC Repair Shop host Jay, he has completely wiped his social media presence. Attempts to reach both his Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, accounts are met with error messages stating that the pages “have been removed” and “this account does not exist.” BBC’s The Repair shop has been a firm favourite with viewers since it first aired in 2017 on BBC Two. Experts on the show include Dominic Chinea, Steve Fletcher, Daniel Burvill and Will Kirk.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
