More infoJoin us on WhatsApp Alex Jones from The One Show has candidly opened up about a particularly tough week earlier this month which resulted in her youngest daughter being hospitalised. At 47, Alex swapped the bustling streets of London for a more rural life last year with her husband Charlie Thomson and their three kids: Teddy, six, Kit, four, and two year old Annie. Discussing recent events on the Binge! podcast alongside Harry Judd, she revealed that poor Annie ended up in plaster and “looking like a pizza” after enduring not one, but two health issues. When questioned by McFly’s Harry about how she was doing, Alex didn’t hold back: “We have had a bloody awful week I won’t lie to you. Can you swear on a podcast? Terrible week. So basically we came back from skiing with no broken bones and then Annie broke her arm.” Harry was taken aback by the news, and Alex explained that the accident occurred when Kit and Annie were playfully imitating Gladiators on the couch, reports Wales Online. The mother-of-three went on to describe the moment Kit fell onto Annie’s elbow: “They got on an arm each, clashed in the middle, and somehow Kit fell against Annie’s elbow and you know when you know because the cry is different? And we really tried to brush it under the carpet like the good parents we are.

“But the next day she was still beside herself and it was swollen. Yeah broken, clean break at the elbow. So plaster cast past her elbow but ready for the next layer? She’s also got chicken pox and she’s covered in it.” Rounding off her story, Alex labelled the experience as “10/10 parenting hell” and said little Annie “looked like a pizza”, referring to her condition after catching chicken pox. Harry opened up about her week, calling it “shocking”, while Alex revealed that at the time of recording, her unwell daughter had only managed to attend nursery once this month. Alex recently came back to the podcast, delving into their usual television picks, with her latest favourite being Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ starring Stephen Graham and Ashley Walters. Sharing her thoughts on the first episode, she enthused: “It is the most gripping hour of television I’ve ever seen.” She continued to express her awe, adding: “It is horrific because what you’re thinking is this could happen to anybody. It is honestly the best hour of telly I’ve ever seen that first episode.”
