During the conversation, Karren gave a teaser about the innovations in the 19th season of The Apprentice. She revealed: “Well, there’s so much! There’s so much to say when there is so much difference. Obviously, every year, the tasks get more and more modern. This year, we’ve got a virtual pop star and an AI pop star. “And I think the scary thing for Tim and I was when Lord Sugar set the task, we were there as virtual popstars.”

As fans eagerly await the grand return of the show this Thursday (January 30), Lord Sugar has hinted at a major twist in the show’s format. This time around, the candidates will be thrown into mixed-gender teams from the get-go, straying from the traditional men vs. women setup. Lord Sugar explained the rationale behind the change: “We’ve split them into sexes in the past purely to help the audience get to know the candidates quickly, it just felt like an easy thing to do.” He added: “This year, we decided to mix it up from the outset. It’s quite a refreshing addition to the first episode, and it’s interesting to see how they handle being a mixed team because it’s not what they necessarily expected from the start.” The One Show airs Mondays-Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
