The hit quiz show hosted by the ever-charming Bradley Walsh served up a fresh episode on Tuesday (March 11) featuring a lineup of new quiz hopefuls. However, the episode seemingly fell flat for some fans, who found themselves underwhelmed and branded the programme “bored” due to the contestants’ reluctance to take risks against chaser Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis. The big cash offers from Darragh failed to entice the quizzers, prompting no one to dare for the high-stakes challenge, much to the dismay of the armchair pundits watching at home.

The decision by the last player, Andrew, to stick with his initial £4,000 prize pot sparked quite the debate on the online platform X, with viewers eagerly sharing their two pennies’ worth, reports Bristol Live. A disgruntled fan commented: “Well that episode was boring! Only £4K each! That’s not much for a once in a lifetime opportunity! Why can’t anybody go high? You should at least expect a £10K win each person at least!”. Someone else lamented: “This episode is once again boring with nobody taking the High Offer!”. Another chimed in with a critique: “Why does every contestant say you’re good enough to go for the top offer, but we need you back, so go for the middle one. Isn’t that really saying they don’t think they’re good enough to go high.”

And yet another viewer added to the mix: “Every Day: ‘Get yourself back, we need you for the final chase. Take the middle offer.'”. Despite the contestants opting for what seemed like the less challenging route, their strategy didn’t pay off in the final chase. Andrew, Nicola, and Ryan teamed up in the finale to take on Chaser Darragh, managing to rack up fifteen correct answers between them. Yet, even with Darragh encountering a few hiccups along the way, the team couldn’t triumph over him to claim their £12,000 prize pot.

A fan expressed their frustration online, posting on X: “Goodness sake. So many opportunities to push back, they would have had a chance if they had got them right.” Another viewer weighed in on the early exit of contestant Gail, pointing fingers at her absence for the team’s shortfall: “So, three of them can’t set The Chaser a decent target, but it’s all *Gail’s* fault, for not being there ..” The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm
