Privacy NoticeThe Chase viewers were in for a treat on Monday’s show as they witnessed not one, but two chasers in the latest ITV episode. After a break, the beloved quiz show returned with a fresh series and a special twist to mark its 15th anniversary. Bradley Walsh, leading the charge, introduced the ‘Double Trouble’ feature, where two quiz masters would challenge the team of four contestants. Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace was up first to take on the hopefuls, followed by Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, ready to stop the players in their tracks. Fans at home couldn’t believe their eyes with the new format. Flocking to X, one viewer exclaimed: “Happy 15th anniversary for #thechase. With Double Trouble rules in effect!” Another chimed in: “2 Chasers today. It’s a special anniversary edition. Contestants look ordinary though,” reports the Mirror. And a third remarked: “This is different!”

The 15th anniversary of The Chase also sparked plenty of comments from the audience. Some celebrated the milestone, while others noted that the actual anniversary fell in June. A fan tweeted: “Happy 15th birthday episode #TheChase! 15 years of pure joy, laughter and entertainment. Bradley is the perfect host for this quiz. 15 years and still very healthy and strong in the daytime ratings! Here’s to the next 15 years.” One viewer pointed out the timing issue with a bit of sarcasm: “Would it not have been better to air this ‘anniversary’ special in June? As that’s when the actual anniversary was. This episode really should have been planned much earlier, like January or February for example. Two months late. But that’s ITV for you.” Another fan couldn’t help but notice the oversight by the network: “Only @ITV could forget that the @ITVChase’s 15th anniversary was actually June. Awkward.”

The clever twist of having contestants named after the Chasers didn’t escape fans’ attention either, as they took to social media to express their amusement. Tickled by the name game, one fan commented: “I see what they did with the names.” While another was equally entertained: “Ha love it all contestants with Chaser names.” In the episode, Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace faced off against two contestants, and Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett battled the other pair. However, only one Chaser made it through to the final chase.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
