Privacy NoticeWe often sit at home and shout random answers at our screens and it’s not surprising that we rarely get the trickiest of quiz show questions right… but shockingly, all nine finalists in The 1% Club were recently in the same position. Everyone got an insanely hard question wrong on the Australian version of the popular ITV show. In the UK it’s hosted by Lee Mack and has the same formula: 100 contestants are put the test using their common sense, logic and intelligence. In the Aussie format, any of them who correctly answers a question that only one percent of the nation got right wins a share of up to $100,000AUD (£53,553).
A hard one percent question saw all nine 1% Club finalists get it wrong and miss out on winning their share of the cash prize in Australia as the UK series continues airing repeats

The hopeful contestants took to the podium to try their luck at the quiz however every single one of them was stumped by one extremely difficult question. The host, Jim Jefferies, asked the contestants the 1 percent question: “What number comes next in this sequence? You have 30 seconds to answer your time starts now.” Flashed up on screen was a pyramid of numbers reading out from top to bottom: “1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1.”
On this episode of the Aussie version of the game show, the prize money was not released as all contestants’ failed to answer one question correctly
Jim then reminded the quizzers when they were at the ’15 second’ as well as the ‘5 second’ mark before the timer ran out. But all contestants’ appeared completely stunned and baffled by the insanely tricky question. Host Jeffries then revealed the answer as: “13112221. For everyone playing at home let’s have a look at the explanation. Count aloud what you see -so one one, then two ones, then one two and one one and so on.” The host added: “The answer is one three, one one, two twos and two ones.” Upon noticing no one got it right, Jeffries joked: “Ah man, that sucks.” The episode has since gone viral on social media with clips circulating and users describing it as a “difficult one.” One TikTok user said: “Unless you’ve seen a puzzle like this before, I’d be amazed if someone got it within that amount of time.”

A second agreed, writing: “Hard to get in 30 seconds if you’ve never seen it before. But I’m guessing that’s the whole point!!” The particularly hard question on the Aus version of the show comes just a few months after Jason Duckett, a UK contestant on The 1% Club, defended himself against accusations of cheating during his appearance on the show. Jason and his wife Rowena were in the studio for an episode of The 1% Club, hosted by Lee, 55. During their round, Jason was asked: “To which body part can you add one letter at the start to make it the word for the job it does,” with the answer being “ear” for “hear”. However, some viewers claimed that Jason purposely gave away the answer to his wife by rubbing his ear lobes, as clips of the moment began to circulate the internet. The 1% Club airs on Saturdays at 8pm on ITV1 and episodes are available to stream on ITVXStory SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
