Privacy NoticeTelly favourite Noel Fitzpatrick couldn’t hold back the tears as he was given a touching update about a former furry patient live on The One Show. Noel The Supervet joined the BBC show, delighting fans alongside actor Julianne Moore to chat about his new projects. While Noel was in high spirits discussing his remarkable endeavours, host Vick Hope reminded him of an incredibly serious operation he carried out on a cat named Oscar. Vick prompted: “You are known as the Supervet for a very good reason. You were the first person to perform a bionic double leg implant on a cat called Oscar, I mean this was a risky thing to do at the time!”

Noel responded with humility: “Well, it’s interesting how much things have progressed over time. It was more than 15 years ago,” reports Wales Online. He continued by sharing the traumatic story of how Oscar tragically lost both his hind legs to a combine harvester, leaving the poor kitty in dire straits. But then, Roman Kemp, the show’s other presenter, brought a heart-warming surprise into the mix. He told Noel and the viewers: “Your work is incredible as well, and you don’t know we’ve done this, but Oscar’s still going strong, 15 years on.”

“And his owner, Mike, wanted to send you a message.” Overwhelmed with emotion, Noel could only exclaim in amazement: “Oh my goodness!” In a touching video, Mike is seen cuddling an exuberant Oscar. Mike shared: “Hi Noel, this is Oscar here in sunny Jersey. We just wanted to give you an update on how he’s doing.” “It’s been over 15 years since he had his accident. He’s 17 now, and he would not be here without what you did for him. So we want to say a big thank you.” Overwhelmed with emotion back in the studio, TV favourite Noel wipes away tears, joking through his reaction: “My goodness, you’re so naughty!” Continuing with heartfelt gratitude, Noel expressed: “That’s incredible how you bring more than a decade of life and love and you can bring light into the world. It’s an honour!” The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
