Privacy NoticeActress Sarah Hadland is currently impressing the judges on Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dance partner Vito Coppola, with the pair finishing in second place on the leaderboard for three weeks out of four. When she isn’t on the dance floor, Sarah, 53, is best known for her role as best friend Stevie in the comedy series Miranda, which she played from 2009 to 2015, but her career stretches back to roles in the theatre from the age of 19 and TV performances beginning with small parts in series including Bad Girls and Dream Team when she was in her twenties. The Hertfordshire-born star also appeared in series such as The Bill, Casualty, Peep Show and Green Wing, before she won a part in the 2006 British romantic comedy movie Confetti alongside Martin Freeman, Olivia Colman and Jimmy Carr. While she appeared briefly in Bond movie Quantum of Solace (as a receptionist) and provided voices for the hit children’s show Fireman Sam (as Bella Lasagne, Penny and Mandy among others), she became best known for her comedic roles in That Mitchell and Webb Look, as one of the original stars of the kids historical comedy series Horrible Histories, as well as for her performances in shows like W1A and Miranda.

Sarah was announced as one of the celebrities competing for the Strictly glitterball back in August, and was paired with professional dancer Vito Coppola. “I cannot believe I am part of Strictly!” she said when her name was revealed. “I feel particularly excited to be part of such an iconic show in its 20th year. I’m so ready for the glitz, glam and glitter and hopefully I can make everyone watching at home proud!” In an interview with Grazia last month, she revealed that this year wasn’t the first time she had been asked to appear on the iconic dance show, and she had already been asked “at least ten” times before. “’A show like [Strictly] is a massive commitment and I always feel when I watch it, I don’t want to see people there who don’t really want to be there. I really wanted to do it this year. I turned it down quite a lot. I think I first got asked the year that Miranda went out which is a long time ago. My mum has also been badgering me and she was ecstatic.” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
