Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks has shocked his followers by announcing he’s taking a step back from the TV spotlight. Best known for stealing hearts on TOWIE and Celebs Go Dating, the 35 year old reality regular has decided its time for him to take a backseat to allow new talent to come through. Despite his surprising revelation about leaving television behind, Pete has hinted there’s still one exception – a possible project, if it involved his best friend Sam Thompson. Pete declared to The Sun: “I won’t be going back on Celebs Go Dating any time soon put it that way. I am banned from dating shows. At my ripe old age I am just going to settle for dying alone. You hear of single women and their cats. I’m going to be a single man with my dogs. Hopefully they don’t eat me when I die.” He added: “I’ve had 10-years of doing shows. I’ve survived a decade. I have been a contributor on nearly every show. It is time to step aside and hand the baton on to younger, better looking, more talented people. Plus I am too old and have too much grey hair to be doing dating or reality shows anymore.”

Pete, who is taking part on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, also said that there is one show he’d love to tackle with his pal Sam, saying: “The only reality show I would still love to do would be Celeb Race Across The World which Sam (Thompson) would love us to do. To be honest he’s the only person who would put up with me. I’d have to do it with him or alone. But I’m not sure Sam and I would finish together. I would probably have to leave him somewhere!” There are whispers that Pete might be more than just dance partners with his Strictly co-star Jowita Przystal. Their chemistry both on and off the dance floor hasn’t gone unnoticed, sparking rumours among fans that there’s something romantic brewing.. Fans and viewers shared their thoughts on social media about the potential love match, with one fan gushing: “Why do they look so beautiful together? Pete’s got a huge sparkle in his eye when he’s around her.” Another viewer was quick to add: “Pete’s in love.” And yet another comment read: “Aww he seems so smitten.”

In the midst of all the whispers, the couple joined the Loose Women panel where they dished on their dancing journey so far. During their chat on the popular ITV daytime programme, Janet Street Porter couldn’t resist asking: “Is it true that you two are going to get matching tattoos if you win?” To which Pete responded: “Obviously, I have got a fair few tattoos so if we win then we are going to get a couple of glitterballs.” Not missing a beat, Janet pressed: “Pete, where will you put it?” With a twinkle in his eye, Pete playfully retorted: “It may be a glitter ball.” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
