Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing’s Graziano Di Prima has faced another setback as a friend has seemingly removed their supportive comment. The professional dancer was recently taken out of the upcoming line-up for the BBC dance competition and has been at the centre of reports about his time partnered with Zara McDermott during the last season of the show, with the Love Island star allegedly facing “repeated abuse” from her dance partner. Reports were supposedly submitted to BBC chiefs by those working on the show with Zara, who decided not to report the incidents, later being asked to meet with bosses to tell her side of the story.

Before the details of what happened were made public, Graziano took to his Instagram page to share his own statement, saying he “deeply regrets the events that led to my departure”. He also added: “When the time is right, I will share my story.” Initially, many people expressed their support for the star, reports the Mirror. However, as more details came to light, some retracted their comments, seemingly including Catherine Tyldesley. The Coronation Street actress, who participated in the 2019 series of the competition and was partnered with Johannes Radebe, posted two separate comments after he shared his statement.

Expressing her shock with a comment: “What nooo [heartbreak emojis],” she then added a second one, saying: “You are the kindest, incredibly talented, most gentle man… I’m so sorry, sending you so much love xxxx.” Interestingly, the latter message seems to have vanished from the comments section, though the initial reaction remains visible. Graziano turned to his social media to address his exit and the surrounding allegations. He opened up to his 247,000 Instagram followers, stating: “I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. While respecting the BBC HR process, I acknowledge it’s only right for the sake of the show that I step away. I am saddened that I wasn’t allowed to offer a quote to the online news stories, and I take on board the sensitivity of the situation.”

He continued: “There’s more to this story that I am unable to discuss at this time, but I am committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family nothing but success in the future.” The BBC has also spoken out, confirming Graziano’s departure: “We can confirm that Graziano Di Prima is no longer a part of the line-up of professional dancers for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing. While we would never comment on individual cases, it is well-known that the BBC has established and robust duty of care procedures, and if issues are raised we will always take them seriously and act swiftly as appropriate.” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
