Privacy NoticeCraig Revel Horwood has been back on our screens with the return of Strictly Come Dancing, entering his 22nd series on the BBC show. While Strictly fans have been getting to know Craig over the last 20 years on BBC One, many were shocked when the TV judge shared a throwback photo of himself back in the ’80s – looking completely different. This Morning viewers were treated to a blast from the past when a vintage snap of Craig popped up on screen, thanks to presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle. “All morning, we’ve been dancing to the very best of the 80s floor fillers and now the disco diva himself has joined us,” Josie beamed, introducing Craig. The black and white image revealed a fresh-faced Craig sporting stubble and an iconic mullet hairstyle.

His look drew a surprised reaction from Josie who exclaimed, “Oh my goodness Craig!” In response, Craig joked about his current look saying, “It looks like I’m trying to recreate that now, I am growing the beard and I’m growing my hair just that little bit longer! Is that a bad thing?” While Josie admired his retro coolness, Craig was quizzed by her co-host over his nostalgia for the era. Reminiscing warmly, the dance maestro shared, “I adored the 80s! I was so pleased that I was born in 1965 so I could enjoy the ’80s in my 20s. That’s when my dance career sort of started.” In the midst of reflecting on his youth, Craig also addressed the ongoing Strictly controversies involving Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice’s recent headline-making drama, reports the Express. Craig, visibly taken aback by the recent drama, has clarified that the judges are kept well away from the contestants’ training.

He detailed: “We have nothing to do whatsoever with their training or how they get there to that point on Saturday night. We don’t even see the camera rehearsals on the Friday so literally come in on the Saturday and judge what we see and it’s done.” “I just want the investigation to be over so I can find out myself the truth because I have nothing really to say. You know it’s really hard to pass judgement on ‘he said this and she said that’. It’s really difficult and it has erupted and of course, I’ve watched the Amanda tape and all that sort of stuff and I’m just blown away by the whole situation.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
