Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly have been sharing the BBC screen for 10 years, with Claudia taking over the reigns from the late Bruce Forsyth after he stepped down from the role in 2013. While Claudia and Tess are the ultimate presenting pair, they have revealed their one major disagreement during their time on the show. The dynamic duo have vowed to step down from Strictly together should the day arrive that one of them wants to exit, with Claudia saying in 2019: “We’ve made that pact over pizza. We’ll go together, whenever they’re done with us.” However, it’s that very pizza that they’re likely to be arguing over.

Claudia said recently: “My favourite game is trying to persuade Tess that pineapple doesn’t belong on a pizza.” Despite their disagreements over toppings, Claudia previously insisted that she’s much happier presenting with her pal by her side – even though she’s found success with shows like The Traitors and The Piano. “I get really, properly vomit-inducing nervous before each show – it’s the responsibility, the idea that I could mess it up that scares me. Tess is the person who looks after me and helps me,” she claimed. “She is warm, funny, so beautiful, but such a strong creature. “I don’t like doing things by myself, I like sharing. I love standing next to Tess. I don’t want to do anything by myself, it makes me deeply uncomfortable.” Claudia and Tess’s friendship has continued to go from strength to strength – even when they’ve been hit with rumours of a feud between them. Writing in the Belfast Telegraph during their early days of presenting together, journalist Jane Graham wrote: “I wasn’t in the least bit surprised to read this week that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman – co-hosts on the now-Bruceless Sunday edition of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing – secretly despise each other. “I’m convinced that Winkleman wouldn’t have got the job if someone in the Strictly camp hadn’t come up with the idea.” Jane also noted: “Because when it comes to selling anything right now – films, TV shows, pop music or newspapers – nothing guarantees exposure like a feud between two glamorous, high profile women,” reports the Express. Meanwhile, Claudia recently admitted that she nearly quit Strictly when she realised that it clashed with taking her eldest son Jake to university. Opening up on BBC Women’s Hour, Claudia emotionally recounted: “I phoned the boss of Strictly quite dramatically and said, through tears, ‘Sarah, I love you. “I don’t want to leave Strictly and Tess [Daly] and I have agreed we will leave together when they’re done with us, but if the first show is September 13, I’m out and you’ll have to go with somebody else'”. Thankfully, it turned out that Strictly wasn’t due to start that week. Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday nights on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
