The hit BBC ballroom competition is not all glitz and glamour for its contestants, it turns out, as Chris, 47, revealed that training has left him and his dance partner, Strictly professional Dianne Buswell, looking a little worse for wear. The pair have been ‘covered in bruises,’ comedian Chris revealed, getting candid about their rehearsals and just how intense they have been. The pair are due to perform a Salsa dance in this weekend’s shows – and the toughness of their training has clearly been ramping up as a result.

Despite the gruelling rehearsals, it seems they are paying off, as Chris, who has made history as Strictly Come Dancing’s first ever blind contestant, has been going from strength, becoming a favouritre among fans, with the pair most recently delighting the judges and viewers with a Wayne’s World-inspired routine for the show’s special Movie Week. Yet, fans have also been ‘disappointed’ as they have also realised that Chris may not be part of the nex t Strictly live tour across the UK, because Chris’s own stand up comedy tour appears to clash with the planned dates. Chris has also addressed Toyah Willcox’s ‘nasty dig’ at him , after her comments about her fellow contestant caused a backlash from some viewers.

Speaking on It Takes Two, Chris was asked about the comments which Toyah made in jest, but which some fans took to be a “dig” at him. Chris revealed to host Janette that he didn’t actually watch the spinoff show to see the comment in question, replying: “We’re all good! I had to be told about it because I didn’t watch. I think the last thing I need is more Strictly stuff!” Elsewhere, the BBC dance competition has also revealed a serious shake up is to come, with a never-before-seen change coming to the live shows very soon.
