Privacy NoticeStrictly’s Chris McCausland and his dance partner Dianne Buswell appeared on on It Takes Two tonight, Thursday 10 October, when he addressed Toyah Willcox’s comments about him, which have caused a stir. As the most recent celebrity to be eliminated from the BBC dance competition, Toyah appeared on the spin-off show on Monday, 7 October alongside her partner Neil Jones where they spoke to host Fleur East about their journey. As part of the interview, Fleur asked Toyah, 66, if she had any advice for the remaining contestants. “If you don’t wanna do a dance off, get rid of Chris!,” she responded, before clarifying: “You’re all going to have to face a dance-off.” In response, Neil joked: “I think she has chosen her winner already.”

However, although it’s clear that the It’s A Mystery singer was complimenting Chris for his dance moves, she faced some backlash from viewers, with one calling it a “nasty dig” on X. “Toyahs dig was totally uncalled for tonight glad she’s out #strictly #ittakestwo,” commented another. “No Toyah, if you want to get rid of Chris you need to be a good dancer. And that’s why he’s still in the competition and thriving,” said a third. Tonight on It Takes Two, Janette asked Chris: “I wanted to clear up some confusion because on Monday, Toyah said you were the one to beat but some people misunderstood what she said. I just want to check you and Toyah are all good right?”

He replied: “We’re all good! I had to be told about it because I didn’t watch. I think the last thing I need is more Strictly stuff” – with his revelation that he doesn’t watch It Takes Two stunning Janette. He continued to praise Toyah, saying: “I can’t believe I have to comment on it to be honest. She’s been nothing but lovely. She genuinely said to me when she went out and we all cuddled on the dance floor: ‘you’re going to win this’. She’s lovely. Her intention is gorgeous. She’s insane for thinking that, let’s not let her off with that. It’s madness.” Earlier in the week, Chris had taken to social media to defend Toyah from the backlash over her comment.

The star took to X, which used to be called Twitter, to respond, saying: “All I can say is that @toyahofficial has been nothing but beautiful and supportive and what she said on Takes Two was funny and an incredible bloody compliment. It’s been such a joy and a privilege Toya. Lots of love, enjoy the surfing! X”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
