Privacy Notice Singer Toyah Willcox is the second celebrity to exit the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing. Toyah and her professional partner, Neil Jones, left the competition on Sunday night following a dance off against Paul Merson and Karen Hauer during the second Results Show of the series. Both couples performed their movie-based routines again, Toyah, married to singer Robert Fripp, and Neil did their Samba to Poor Unfortunate Souls from Little Mermaid. Then, Paul and his dance partner Karen performed their Cha Cha to The Magnificent Seven from The Magnificent Seven. After both couples danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all choosing to save Paul and Karen.

Toyah Willcox became the second celebrity to be voted out of the series

With three votes in favour of Paul and Karen, they won the majority vote meaning that Toyah and Neil would be leaving the competition. Head Judge Shirley Ballas also agreed and said she would have decided to save Paul and Karen. When asked by Tess Daly about her brief time on the show, Toyah said: “It’s been the best two months of my life, it has been fantastic. I have enjoyed every second. And you (Neil) have been phenomenal, thank you so much.” Strictly fans, some of whom had questioned the judge’s choice to save Toyah over Olympic swimmer Tom Dean in last week’s show, said this was the ‘right’ result. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, a fan wrote: “So happy with that result, so glad they are gone.” A second said: “I would like to thank the British public for getting it right for once.” They might be leaving the show, but luckily, it’s not the last time Toyah and Neil will be together, the pair will join Fleur East and Janette Manrara for a chat about their experience on Strictly and give their verdict on who they think will claim the Glitterball trophy on It Takes Two on Monday (14 October).

Toyah was the oldest contestant of this year’s Strictly

Movie Week was filled with unmissable moments, including Pete Wicks almost sending his partner, Jowita Przystal, flying across the dancefloor. The pair’s performance was applauded by most of the judges, though the bungle didn’t escape Craig observed the “trip hazard” before branding some of moves “uncoordinated at times”. The professional dancers also did an opening number that won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Kai Widdrington transformed into beloved children’s cartoon character, Gru, while the others were coloured in yellow and became Minions. There was also drama off-screen with Nick Knowles being unable to perform after he sustained an injury before and during rehearsals.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
