However, some viewers are convinced there’s a curse linked to the order of performances, noting that JB and Amy’s early slot on Saturday (19 October) might have doomed them.

Tweets flooded in with concerns, pointing out that Shayne Ward and Nick Knowles also hit the dance-off after being first to perform on the hit BBC show earlier this month. Strictly viewers have now speculated a ‘first dance curse’, reports the Mirror. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Crazy how JB danced first last night and in the dance off, and Shayne ward danced first last week and too himself there. Going first is a curse lol.” A second added: “Ooh that’s a bit of a shock, but I think sometimes opening the show can put you in a risky position. Easy to forget the first couple especially if they fall in the middle of the leaderboard.” Craig had already hinted at trouble for JB and Amy as they were mid-table post-jive, and it seems fans are echoing his sentiments. “Going first is a proper curse this series,” remarked another viewer, while someone else expressed their disbelief: “Voters with goldfish memories yet again. Two weeks in a row. The curse of first.” The surprise was palpable when Tess Daly announced JB and Amy for the dance-off, with many having pegged them as potential champions. “JB and AMY?!?! In the bottom 2? What’s going on? ” a fan posted and another added: “What the actual F. JB and Amy should be nowhere near the dance off. #Strictly.”
