It was reported that a social media post, intended just for close pals and not the entire internet, spilled the beans. However, it’s accuracy has not been confirmed. The star-studded line-up is also rumoured to include Ted Lasso sensation Hannah Waddingham, Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati, Loose Women’s own Janet Street-Porter, pop sensation Duncan James from Blue, and Tracy Beaker Returns standout Kia Pegg. The caption alongside the leaked list allegedly stated: “Got this off of a friend, this seems so exciting! Can’t wait for this, especially Hannah Waddingham! ” Other names on the rumoured list were: Chris McCausland, cycling superstar Dame Laura Kenny, Outnumbered actor Tyger Drew-Honey, Sarah Millican, Doctor Who alum Pearl Mackie, actor Sunil Patel, DJ Jordan North, former football ace Jermaine Jenas, and EastEnders favourite Shona McGarty. Death In Paradise’s Ralf Little might be swapping the sunny shores for the dance floor as whispers suggest he could be joining the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, though the BBC has not yet confirmed the official cast. A BBC Spokesperson stated: “The celebrity contestants for this series will be announced in due course,” reports The Mirror. The rumoured line-up comes after the BBC show was thrown into chaos as two professional dancers left the show.

Amanda Abbington made allegations of Giovanni Pernice’s training techniques last year. In January, it was reported that the actress had requested to view footage from what was described as ‘tense’ rehearsal sessions, sparking an inquiry into misconduct. Laura Whitmore, Richie Anderson, Debbie McGee, Ranvir Singh and EastEnders’ star Rose Ayling-Ellis also reportedly lined up to give their accounts as the investigation progressed. Giovanni has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. Graziano Di Prima was axed the show following the emergence of a video, seen by producers, where he kicked his celebrity dance partner, Zara McDermott. At the time of his axing, Graziano said he regrets the events that led to his departure from the show. “My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime,” he said in an Instagram statement.
