A representative for the star has said that Janette “has never received any complaints” about her coaching style, following a former celeb partner’s less-than-flattering comments. The BBC also issued a statement today after It Takes Two presenter Janette faced backlash from ex-dance partner Will Bayley. Will alleges he was left with a severe injury due to a jump gone wrong on the show, pointing the finger at Janette for the mishap. Janette’s spokesperson told OK!: “Janette had a great time dancing with Will and one of her favourite moments on the show was doing their contemporary couples choice. Her celebrity partner’s safety and enjoyment was always the priority throughout her time on Strictly. Will Bayley’s comments add to the drama BBC chiefs are dealing with as they gear up for Strictly’s landmark 20th series later this year. Graziano Di Prima was axed from the upcoming season earlier this month amid allegations of gross misconduct towards 2023 dance partner Zara McDermott. He has since admitted that he kicked Zara once during rehearsals, reports the Mirror. Giovanni Pernice, who won the Glitterball trophy with Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2021, will also not be returning to the BBC dance floor this autumn due to an ongoing investigation into allegations made by actress Amanda Abbington. The Italian dancer denies these claims and has said he is determined to clear his name. Over the weekend, Will Bayley, a participant from the 2019 series, spoke about a severe injury he suffered during training. He alleges that despite expressing concerns about a specific jump, he was asked to perform it during rehearsals with Janette. The mum-of-one, whose husband Alijaz Skorjanec is set to return to the BBC dance floor later this year, was a Strictly professional from 2013 until she took over as host of sister show It Takes Two in 2021.

Will claims in the interview with The Sun that Janette dismissed his jump as “rubbish” and he later heard his leg crack in the process. Despite being in “horrific pain,” he claims he wasn’t taken to hospital but instead to a hotel room where ice was applied to his knee. Will now accuses the BBC of failing in their duty of care towards him following the incident. He said: “Now feels like the right time to speak up. I hope what I went through never happens to anyone else. I think the show thought they were being inclusive by casting me, but I actually felt pressured. I have got a serious disability and I don’t think anyone was really looking out for me when I injured myself, leaving me with injuries that still affect me to this day.” “No one has ever contacted me from the BBC or said sorry.
