Steph shared: “Deadline is a book idea I’ve had since my early days on breakfast TV. Writing it has allowed me to spend the last few years secretly living in a parallel universe where the high-pressure, high-profile environments I’ve worked in, and the colourful characters I’ve encountered along the way, have all contributed to my own dark tale of power, corruption, and lies.” “I’m thrilled to be launching the book at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival. I’ve been attending this festival to stalk my favourite authors for ten years. Now to be here as an author myself is mind-boggling.” Deadline will be published by Pan Fiction in July next year.

Steph was understandably emotional when her popular lunch time chat show came to an end last year. A statement from Channel 4 said: “Steph has not only made the nation’s lunchtimes more entertaining and brilliantly reflected the views and pre-occupations of the country, but the show has also been an outstanding springboard for developing local talent behind the scenes.
The series was cancelled in October last year with the last show being broadcast on 8 December 2023

The channel explained: “With audience habits changing quicker than ever, we have to make difficult decisions about which programmes to invest in to best drive our digital-first strategy and we have decided not to recommission Steph’s Packed Lunch when its existing production contract ends in December 2023.” Steph’s Packed Lunch first began our screens in 2020. The presenter launched the show from her own home during lockdown and it quickly became a massive hit with viewers. The final episode aired in December at the channel’s first high profile regional launch, located at Leeds Dock.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
