Privacy NoticeSky News faced a major hiccup when technical difficulties stopped the channel from broadcasting as planned. Sky News presenter Jacquie Beltrao sounded the alarm on Twitter, revealing: “We’re obviously not on air – we’re trying.” The chaos wasn’t contained to just Sky’s UK base; other big-name broadcasters like SBS, ABC, and Network 10 experienced similar technical troubles. It seems the root of the problem was a faulty Microsoft Windows anti-virus update that wreaked havoc worldwide, affecting Sky News Australia, various tech firms, financial institutions, and airlines. Reports suggest that the issue stemmed from a flawed update from CrowdStrike, an American cybersecurity company widely used by British entities. Viewers got wind of the situation when their early morning news routine was interrupted with a message stating: “We apologise for the interruption to this broadcast. We hope to restore the transmission of Sky News shortly.”

Her supporters were quick to join the chorus for the channel’s comeback. “We need our Sky News morning fix lol! BBC News too dry! ” one die-hard viewer wrote. “So weird waking up and no Sky News, hope you are back soon.. missing you,” yet another fan stated.
