Streaming on Netflix from today (March 17), Inside sees a group of influencers living under one roof and competing for a shiny £1 million prize pot. Across seven days, the contestants take part in various challengers and try to dodge being evicted. But there’s a twist, every decision that the castmates make can deduct money from the final prize pot. This includes buying luxury products, such as coffee, from an on-site shop that sells items for hundreds of pounds. Among this season’s competitors is Whitney Adebayo, who won over the nation during her time on Love Island. Love Island fame

It was a clip from Whitney’s podcast that caused the influencer to face backlash. In a video that she shared in early March, she voiced that she wants to embrace her ‘feminine era’ and ditch the ‘Bad B aesthetic.’ While she explained a number of reasons behind her decision to become more ‘feminine’, her followers took issue with her claim that the ‘Bad B aesthetic’, which often consists of wearing form-fitting clothes and glamorous makeup, doesn’t attract desirable partners. Her followers did not hold back from sharing their disagreement, with many claiming that she was not staying true to her authentic self. One person commented under the video: “Just be yourself and stop following trends.” Fans felt that she was being inauthentic because Whitney famously sang the lyrics ‘I can be a baddie and a lady’ during her stint on Love Island. These lyrics are echoed in her TikTok bio. Whitney has since defended herself, explaining that she is still figuring out her ‘feminine’ journey. She responded to a viewer’s comment under the video, stating: “[…] I’m only human gyal going through life like everyone else.” (sic) The short 90-second clip garnered almost 500K views on TikTok and is still being circulated by various blogs on Twitter and Instagram. Inside by Sidemen is streaming now on Netflix.
