Our travel editor’s packing must haves (Image: GETTY)I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the globe as part of my work, reviewing hotels, exploring natural wonders and writing about top holiday destinations. I believe I’ve mastered the art of packing light and neatly, thanks to a few key purchases that I now can’t travel without. Essential items like packing cubes, travel hangers and well-designed toiletry bags can make a world of difference in maximising suitcase space. This could potentially save you money by allowing you to travel with just hand luggage, avoiding costly baggage fees, reports the Mirror. Here are three budget-friendly travel buys that I swear by, all available on Amazon… READ MORE: Sold-out Ryanair-approved rucksack that ‘fits four days’ worth of outfits’ is back in stock Hanging toiletries bag BAGSMART Hanging Toiletry Bag, £19.99 from Amazon (usual price £26.99)
A travel must-have for Laura

Laura never travels without this

I purchased this after seeing celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin rave about its usefulness for travelling, and she wasn’t wrong; it’s the best design I’ve come across. The hook is incredibly useful for hanging on the back of a hotel bathroom door, and the four compartments accommodate all the skincare, hair and body products I need for a short trip away, including items like full-size cans of deodorant. The elasticated straps prevent bottles from rolling around, and even when it’s filled to the brim, it fits neatly into any suitcase space. It’s available in several colours and also in a larger size, which I’m contemplating buying for longer trips. Packing cubes Toifucos 8Pcs Packing Cubes, £10.99 from Amazon (usual price £15.99)

Affordable and effective

If you’re a fan of ‘organisation influencers’ like Stacey Solomon and her sister Jemma, you’ll know they often recommend packing cubes as a simple solution to keep your clothes and belongings tidy in your suitcase, and maximise space and I wouldn’t be without them either. These ones from Amazon might not be the sturdiest (and I choose to overlook the spelling errors in the text…) but for the price, they’re fantastic. Whether you roll or fold your clothes, you’ll fit much more in them than you’d expect, and then they’ll slot neatly and Tetris-like into your suitcase. The set even includes handy bags for dirty laundry and toiletries. They’re a game changer. Cable organiser WWW Electronics Accessories Organiser Bag, £12.99 from Amazon

Ideal for commuting or holidays

There’s nothing more frustrating than rummaging through a mess of cables and chargers to find the one you need, and this compact case keeps everything organised. Cords fit neatly in the elasticated sections, with slots for hard drives, power banks or phones too; it’s even waterproof. I take it with me on everything from commutes to work to long holidays; it’s a must-have for me. And if you’re on the hunt for a new item to store all this in when you travel, Antler’s popular Discovery backpack is Ryanair-approved and comes highly recommended by our own writers.
